Hello, Goodbye!

My last post of 2009! Where did this year go?

Well, yesterday, Starr went to Barnes & Noble and got Lanie's two books! She's already finished them before 2010, lol. Anyway, I don't want to give anything away for people who want to read them, so I won't say much. But, Starr was pondering getting Lanie. She decided she wanted her when she finished the books. Then, she looked around, and realized...we already sort of have a Lanie here -- Luna!

Luna not only has her blond hair and face mold, but they are both the outdoorsy, environmentalist types. Though I must say, Lanie sounds a little more...normal? Anyway, Starr has decided *not* to get Lanie, after all. I must say I outwardly breathed a sigh of relief when she announced that, but I secretly sort of wanted a new friend. Oh, well!

You can see pics of Lanie's whole collection (minus the rather expensive but expansive camper) at the Doll Wardrobe here.

Well, on a sort-of-other-but-related note, Starr, the rich girl, has $93 burning a hole in her pocket, plus a $25 Barnes and Noble gift card. Gah; that's nearly enough to buy a doll! Except, she's not. I know she's plotting an AG order soon...probably some Rebecca stuff and new stuff that will be released tomorrow! Woot! I am so excited!

Tonight, for New Years, Starr is going to her friend's house, leaving us here alone. :( Though I suppose it is better than staying home and waiting for the new AG releases on the computer the whole time, which is a rather hermit-like and antisocial behavior and something a teenager should expressively not do, according to the grown-ups here. Anyway.

Well, I do believe I should go eat breakfast, it now being 9:11 A.M. CST.

Hope ya'll have a great time celebrating the last day of the year (and decade!) and ringing in the new year! See ya back next year, in 2010. (It will be so hard to get used to called it 2010...)

The Sisters in Heart Environmental Challenge

Yesterday, I went outside, after it stopped raining, to take some pictures for the Sisters in Heart challenge. I brought my guitar, too. In no way are these photos as good as other bloggers' but I think they turned out all right. Enjoy!

Even in the darkest, coldest days of winter...you can find beauty in nature. ♥

Awesome stuff ~Prt. 2 (Lanie)

It would figure, of course, that while I drop off the face of the Internet for two days, Lanie decides to appear. Ha! I know you've all seen her before, but here she is again, the lovely Lanie:

American Girl GOTY 2010 Lanie

Besides the doll, we also know some more things in her collection like: "a gardening outfit, a set of furry wildlife friends, a hammock for lounging on summer days, and a camper and gear to explore the great outdoors. *from Mari Luna's Wonderful Blog*

Pretty, no? Starr thinks she is, anyway. She loves hazel eyed dolls (see: Mia, Rebecca) for some reason...maybe 'cuz she has them herself? And Lanie is no different. BUT Starr said she had enough dolls. She just said six is enough. She doesn't have much room for us, anyway, and a new doll--forget it. But she really likes Lanie, so she thinks what she is going to do is what commenters on MLWB suggested: Wait a little while to see if it's just passing, and then if she still likes her, maybe maybe get her. Maybe. But probably not. I should probably go now, because the more I let Starr look at this photo, the more she will want Lanie.

Yes, I know I'm posting twice in one day. I used to do it when I first started this blog, then I found it hideous but now its necessary. Not really, but whatevs. :D

Oh, and I did the Sisters in Heart challenge this afternoon. I will post the pictures tomorrow!

P.S. I changed the sidebar pictures since it is no longer Christmas. I think I'll keep the snow for a while, though.

Awesome Stuff~Prt. 1 (Our Trip)

So we're back in Texas now! I'm here to show you the highlights of our trip: (piccies, piccies, piccies, finally!)

1. Walking around, seeing all the lights and Christmas decorations in San Francisco. Here is the elaborate Macy's window. It's HUGE.

2. Making a gingerbread house and gingerbread cookies!

3. Playing outside in the snow! I made a snow angel!

4. Christmas, of course! Look at all those prezzies under the tree! :D

5. New stuff for dolls! First, Rebecca models Nellie's new dress, sewn by Starr's mom.

Second, Nellie models her other new dress & violin that we found under the tree when we got home, courtesy of Santa Claus! ;)

Nellie has always wanted to play the violin, so beginning in 2010 she will take lessons! She also feels very blessed to have not one but two new dresses!

Pretty soon, I will compile an album of all our pictures from our vacation on Picasa. I'll share that with you when its ready. :)

Looking Ahead to the New Year

Hey all! I'm just bored at the cabin, so I decided to post. :)

Can you believe that in five days, it will be a whole new year--2010? 2009 has gone by so fast. Pretty soon, Chrissa, Sonali and Gwen will be gone and Lanie will be here.

Starr says she doesn't want anymore dolls; six is enough. So I guess we won't be getting Lanie, or any other dolls next year, for that matter. But I think Starr is looking into Pullips for next year. She has got some money from Christmas so maybe she'll save up for one of those. Or maybe she'll buy Rebecca an outfit or two. Or maybe something for one of us modern dolls from Liberty Jane or Melody Valerie or another doll couturier. Or maybe this will be the year she'll give sewing a try, using one of the LJ patterns. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the new year brings! I'm looking forward to it.

Oh, and hey, check out the map at the bottom of my blog I just installed. It shows where everyone who reads this blog is! Don't worry, it doesn't say who. I just think it's pretty neat to be able to see where I have readers--it looks like there are some people as far away as Hong Kong and Canada, as well as all over the United States. I think that is so awesome! :D

P.S. We leave tomorrow to gallavant around the Bay Area and then we'll return to Texas on Monday. Just in case I can't post until then. :)

Merry Christmas to All!

Hello everybody and Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! I hope you are all enjoying your holiday! :) I know I am!

We woke up early because when it's Christmas morning, how can you sleep in? Looking under the tree, here's what we found: clothes, shoes, $50 in gift certificates to Barnes & Noble, money and a bunch of other miscellaneous things (2010 calender! candy canes! etc.) for Starr. What about the dollies? Well, there was Samantha's Cranberry Party dress, presumably for Nellie. What? Yes. And it was not acquired off of Ebay, either. Starr's mother used the pattern from Playthings and sewed the dress herself, without Starr even knowing! The dress is Nellie's but Rebecca is wearing it right now, modeling it, and it looks so sweet on her! :) Also, one of Starr's sisters got a doll T-shirt from the American Girl Place, one that is white and says "Earth Girl" with a tree on it, which I am wearing right now since that sister doesn't have any dolls with her now. Piccies to come soon (when I get back to Texas).

My other great gift was that I have 42 followers! *faints* Yay!

I hope you are all having a great Christmas so far! What did you find under your tree?

A White Christmas, Etc.

We're in the mountains now and there's snow! There's at least a good two feet of it, and it's so awesome! Yesterday Starr took pictures of us outside and I think they turned out pretty well. :) This will be my first white Christmas ever, I think. I've seen snow before, just not on X-mas.

Starr went skiing today and tonight they're going to Mass and then out to eat at a nice restaurant. Santa comes tonight, too--I can't wait to find out what's under the tree!

Happy Christmas Eve, everyone! I'll try and blog tomorrow, but the Internet is extremely faulty up here....
